Put In The Work

What's up, kiddos!

Spring break is over, and now it's time to get back to work. We know just how tough that feels. After a week of lounging around and having fun, it's time to get up early, focus, and do things that are not necessarily fun. For Marissa and I, we have to prepare and get things ready for testing at the schools we work at. For y'all, it's getting ready to take all those tests. You have to study, look over notes, and take tutorials to be prepared for those tests. If you haven't done all of those things and slacked off, you'll probably have difficulty passing those tests. Nobody wants to flunk or go to summer school because they didn't take their work seriously. If you put in the work daily over the school year and prioritize schoolwork, then those tests are light work. Passing them will be no problem, and you know you'll move on to the next grade.

This week pastor dre encourages us to put in the work for God, for the glory of God. To get up and not be slothful. To be a successful laborer. Just like we can get unfocused in school and slack off, we can also get unfocused in life and slack off on honoring God. Instead of putting all the things of the world ahead of God and putting it off, we should be putting in the work for God. It's the thing now to be a sack chaser for the gram. It's a thing now to secure the bag. All for what? Nothing that will last. It's rare that we can accumulate enough likes on Instagram to pay the bills and live a fulfilled life. When we chase our purpose for God's glory, we will live a richer life than any amount of money can buy. The peace and joy that come with honoring God with our lives are beyond better than any temporary clout the world can offer.

This week we ask you to take a step towards pursuing things with the intention of giving God the glory. Study the word, work on making disciples, and fellowship with those around you. Put the work in to do things right for the Lord. These are just some of the things you can work towards for the Lord. What work do you think you can do for God this week?

We love you!

Jesse and Marissa
